Research Interests: W. James MacLean
My main area of research is in Computational Vision. Within this field,
my focus is on motion analysis and segmentation, and also high-performance
implementations of vision algorithms (typically using FPGAs). Below are some
topics of interest:
- Analysis of Visual Motion
- Optic Flow Recovery
- Parametric optic flow
- Non-Parametric Optic Flow
- Spatial Coherence for flow estimation and motion-based segmentation
- Recovery of Egomotion Parameters
- Detection/tracking of Independently Moving Objects
- Recovery of Planar Surfaces in Images from Motion Analysis
- Real-time Implementations for Computer Vision
- Computer architectures for computer vision
- FPGAs for stereo & motion analysis, and for feature extraction
- Real-time plane recovery
